Sometimes I look at what I do for my career – being a managing editor of a website – and I think I have no idea what I’m doing. I mean, I’ve never had formal training in journalism. Well, I mean, I’ve taken seminars and workshops pretty consistently over the years. And I’ve spent my whole life learning and practicing the art of writing. And I spend a lot of time reading, observing what others do, asking lots of questions, and generally analyzing what I’ve done that works or doesn’t work. But I don’t have a real education.

But then again, I never had a formal education as an athlete or trainer either. I mean, I took seminars and workshops pretty consistently and showed up at the gym no matter what. I sought out people who knew more than me, I talked to other athletes who were ahead of me and asked them what they did, and I read a whole lot of books and magazines. And since the late 90s I’ve made it a goal to learn and practice new sports with regularity, always analyzing what I’m doing and seeking to better myself and my performance. But, I mean, I never had a real education in fitness.

Or did I?

Becca Borawski served as Program Director at CFLA for seven years and is now part of the extended coaching family. She is the managing editor for Breaking Muscle, a website designed for real athletes and real coaches. She lives in Portland, OR and is most likely preparing a paleo meal at this moment.

All of the sudden, things started to come together. Great job today, Francesca! #snatches #practice #weTalkinBoutPractice #crossfit #allwomencrossfit #womenofcrossfit
