Big Thanks to Chino for his fantastic pieces of word & font art at CFLA

The changes that have taken place since the first CrossFit Games back in 2007 are extraordinary. From simply a fun competition at a small ranch in Aromas, CA that anyone that showed up could participate in to a worldwide event with over 130,000 participants… who would have thunk?

And having just wrapped up the Games OPEN, I want to take a moment to acknowledge all the incredible people at CFLA that helped make it happen…

Mad props to Annita Reuben. She took her strength as an athlete and put it to use as the “Grand Master High Poobah” of the CrossFit Games Open at CFLA. She was ON IT – every week – ensuring the standards, timing, organization, heats, scoring, judging, and clean up was on spot on. Thanks to her, we actually had an event!

Kenny Kane – master dancer, spirit director, and head programmer at CFLA – brought his enthusiasm and ability to create fun out of anything, even a CrossFit workout!

Niki Marek – chief verifier – Niki made sure all scores entered into the system were verified on time – doesn’t sound so impressive or important, until the day YOUR score doesn’t show as verified!

And then our athletes…
For the men & women who consistently made up our top 3, all I can say is WOW! Amazing performances from each of you. I am so proud to train along side of you and to cheer you on as you continue to touch, move and inspire so many of the other members of our community. You are all shining examples of just what is possible with good life balance, perseverance, consistency and determination. And considering none of you have committed your lives to training for CrossFit, I’d say we did a pretty amazing job (Team CFLA finished in 58th place)!

Men: Zach, Logan, Danny, Kenny & Ricky. By the way, Zach finished in an amazing 84th place as an individual in the SoCal Region!

Women: Shirley, Ann Maire, Hacker, Lauren, Lindsey, Niki, Tanya
