These are two words you don’t hear spoken in a “fitness club”, but if you want to obtain an elite level of fitness, it is EXACTLY what you need in your training. Ben is doing a kettlebell snatch below with a 24 kg kettlebell. This is far more weight than he’d be able to slowly lift up off the ground and over his head, but when he quickly and violently extends his ankles, knees and hips and transfers that power through his torso to his shoulder and down to his hand, the result is that 54 pound object flying up off the ground with enough velocity that he can receive it overhead pretty easily (well, easily enough that he can do multiple reps – “easy” as you all know is relative!)
