**Start the second AMRAP where you left off. A really interesting thing has occurred over the past 3 weeks. For the first time in over 8 years of running CrossFit Los Angeles, we announced a specialty seminar (this one was supposed to be on Running mechanics) and as life would have it, ZERO people signed up. Not only did zero people sign up, but zero people even asked about it… and as a result, no, we are not holding the seminar (don’t worry – this isn’t some sort of plea to get people to sign up at the last minute).

Now, most people would say, “What the heck are you doing publicizing that crappy news on your blog?” I’ll tell you why I’m writing it – I think it’s a topic that deserves our attention. When I first started CrossFitting, I didn’t leave a stone unturned – I found every coach (there weren’t many of them back in those days) and went to every seminar I could get to. I soaked it up like a sponge… one of the things I love so much about CrossFit is that there is SO much to learn that you’re never quite done. So I never felt like there was a time during which I wasn’t up for learning something new and/or getting better at what I already know how to do. Even today, after all these years, I still feel that way… learning something new all the time. This is the foundation of the program at CFLA – providing you a place to do just that. But the thing is, you’ve got to show up.

So I’ve got to ask the question… Are YOU really bought in, or are you just marking time? Do you really want it – to learn how to be at the top of your game as an athlete? To develop the skills that allow you to look graceful with your bodyweight, strong and powerful with weights, and light and fast on your feet in running? Because if you’re not looking for that, and training for that, you’re not taking full advantage of what we do CFLA.

You see, when you’re bought in, you’re chomping at the bit to learn every little thing that is going to give you a competitive / athletic advantage. You’re watching it every night at home on youtube, you’re reading articles in the CrossFit Journal, you’re spending time before and after class working on skills and asking for support and coaching. When you’re really bought it, you ARE a request for training – no matter the cost (up to a point, of course), no matter the time, no matter the commitment.

So ask yourself, “What am I waiting for?” If you really want elite fitness, I mean REALLY want it, my advice to you is this… don’t let ANYTHING get in your way.
