“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.” – Mark Twain

It takes a lot of courage to throw off the bowlines and do exactly what you’d like and be exactly who you want. But don’t let your future self down. Don’t accept the future disappointment. Get in the exact game that you want to play, and know that you don’t always have to explain yourself to anyone. While you’re at it, speak highly of yourself because in twenty years you’ll wish you were that same (fill in the blank) as you were twenty years ago.

I imagine that many of you were inspired by the Olympics, which are now sadly over, but Friday is the start of the Sochi Paralympics. If you need inspiration to not sit on the sidelines because of whatever setbacks you feel you have, whether physical, mental or emotional, watch this video, watch the Paralympics, then catch the trade winds in your sails and go. In that courage and letting go is freedom.
