Tell us about you sports & fitness background: I have exercised my whole life from competitive tennis and basketball in school to daily weightlifting routines. Sports and Fitness has always been crucial for me to help maintain a healthy physical and psychological lifestyle.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel? I came to CFLA to introduce BOTAN, a plant protein drink I had recently launched. I was welcomed with open arms and invited to try CrossFit. After the first workout which involved a combination of running, pull ups and squats I was hooked to the physical intensity and the variety of the sport. I was also hooked on the community aspect. Throughout the workout, I was encouraged by fellow crossfiters and nobody left until we were all done. The coaches also paid special attention to me making sure the movements were performed well.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)? I have seen changes I never thought possible. After 10 years of weightlifting and seeing no changes in my strength or body, I am amazed. Just a few months after starting crossfit, I doubled my strength and PR for all exercises, lost 14 pounds of fat and started to see my 6 pack for the first time ever. I was also able to eat everything all the time with no consequences. I feel stronger, look leaner and feel happier than ever before. I also previously struggled with keeping good training routines and staying motivated. The hard part now is remembering to take a day off once in a while.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected? My energy level is higher and so is my discipline when it comes to everyday tasks. I also feel like I belong to a great community which has raised my confidence level. I train and live with more purpose which makes everything easier.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFLA moments: My favorite CFLA moment came outside of CFLA on a visit to CrossFit River North in Chicago. Completely hooked on crossfit but traveling, I was forced to look for a crossfit gym so as to not skip a day of training while away from CFLA. I joined one of the most renowned in Chicago for the week excited to try a new place. What I realized was that CrossFit was not alone responsible for all of these unbelievable changes in my discipline, health and lifestyle. I would say over 50% was due to the CFLA team and the community they have created. It’s an incredible feeling that I had never experienced before and I have to thank them for all they have done and all they are continuing to do for me. So I am hooked on the crossfit at CFLA specifically!

Any advice for people just getting started? Train in moderation, this stuff is extremely addicting but you’re in the right place.

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? I am an entrepreneur and I love projects and I always have a few in the pipe line. They are my hobbies, interests and talents.
