9 Toes-to-barSome of you may know about this funky little thing that’s been going on with my heart for the last 10 days or so. Turns out it’s not a major thing. They are called PVCs — premature ventricular contractions. After all the tests that I’ve had done they’ve been deemed harmless. Harmless and extremely annoying. If you don’t know what it is, what’s been happening basically feels like a missed heartbeat followed by a really strong heartbeat. What’s happening is an early heartbeat followed by a regularly timed, overfilled heartbeat. That you feel — blech. They’re not always there, but when they are they can happen up to 10 times a minute!
One of the things about having this happen is it has helped me see what an awesome community we have and what a great resource it is for support, information, advice and even treatment it is! There are friends, ER doctors, acupuncturists (not to mention lawyers, artists, filmmakers, life coaches and Western apparel manufacturers) and more. As soon as this started happening I was definitely not at a loss for what to do. I reached out to the people here and was able to get into action immediately. From having people check in on me every day to having access to medical information and treatment options, the CFLA community rocks as far as I’m concerned.
I’d love to hear from you guys what the community is for you outside of working out with people. Have you had an experience of the community as a resource that surprised you?
