Fall Flavor

The other day in class, Chip asked students what is our favorite thing about fall. And mine — among many things — is fall cooking and baking. Every since the weather changed, I’ve been cooking a lot more.

One of the most simple and one of the favorite things I used to make the girls in fall was baked apples. I would cut the apple in half, core them then ask the girls to fill them how they wanted. Maya and I would stuff ours with raisins, blueberries, walnuts, and cinnamon. And Mina wanted a couple slivers of almonds and nothing else. She mainly just wanted the baked fruit. We’d laugh about it, but I get it.

Anyway, if you get a chance try this super simple fall recipe:

Family Baked Apples
serves 2-4
Preheat the oven to 375
Fill a baking pan with a half inch of water

2 apples (I used Fujis), halved and cored
Fill with raisins, blueberries, walnuts, cinnamon – or whatever sounds good to you
(or leave it plain with a couple slivers of almonds)

Bake 20-27min depending on size of apple — or until a sharp knife pierces the apple easily

Bottom of squat hold

60 MB Sit to stands
Forearm plank hold
