One of the mental skills we work on at CFLA Kids is focus. Focus is a skill that translates into everything we do out in the “real” world. At CrossFit, it shows up as being able to keep count, remembering sequences of movements, and remembering how to do movements. If I allow myself to get distracted, I might not remember what number I am on, or how to do the movement I just learned. We work every day with the kids, helping them focus their brains and their energy to the task at hand.
