It’s that time of year. The time of year when we begin to gather around the table with friends and family and celebrate with food. For a lot of us, we already know how this is going to go. We have a picture from the past and there is a pretty good chance that without even helping it along, the future will look the same. I’d like to bring your attention to an opportunity. It’s an opportunity to say how things are going to go and to experience the success of being able to be the one who shapes your future.

This does not mean that I’m suggesting you should not enjoy yourselves and have no cheese, no potatoes, no stuffing, no wine, no dessert. It does mean that I am suggesting you can have the experience of saying what the future is going to look like.

What would your life look like if you got to say exactly how it would go and it turned out that way just because you said so? It’s a muscle and requires practice like anything else. This isn’t to say that the getting there will look like you think it should, but you can have it end up like you said it would. It’s an act of declaring it and then simply not standing for it being any other way.

What would you declare if you knew that it would come to pass? Can you pick one “pitfall” that you foresee for this holiday season and actually make for yourself a different future than the default one you expect?

Post your future to comments.

Look, Ma – no hands!
