Many times as a workout programmer, one of the criteria I use to decide whether a workout is a good one or not is whether or not it looks like “fun” in a CrossFit sort of way. You know – interesting enough with variety and challenge that it will hold your interest over the length of the WOD. But sometimes, that’s not what’s needed. Sometimes you’ve got to do what you need to do for your own good, and “fun” or “interesting” just isn’t a part. Sometimes, just to challenge your desire, your mental toughness, and your willpower, it’s important that the workout is exactly the opposite – uninteresting, mundane, and really damn tough.

Next week on Thursday we’ve got one of those days. AMRAP 40, 1,000m Row, 1 min rest. I challenge you to show up that day and give it your all. It’s one of those workouts that makes lots of others feel rather easy and can lead to incredible breakthroughs. Remember to register online in advance since classes will be capped at 15 that day.
