Holiday & Gratitude

Holiday & Gratitude

Wow – it’s the end of 2009… I can’t believe it. This is officially my last post for 2009 – I’ll try not to be too long winded. In reflecting over the year, I’m left with really only one thing – a HUGE amount of gratitude.

For the amazing group of people I get the honor and privilege of working along side of each and every day – I call them my staff, and you call them instructors, coaches,or slave drivers – Becca, Michael, Jonesy, Jennifer, and John… without them, none of this would be possible,

For each of you that makes up our strong, vibrant, energetic, creative, fun, committed and most excellent community. Without you, none of this would be fun or worth while!

For all of the volunteers, interns, ambassadors, and people that go out of their way to lend a helping hand – without you, we’d all be working many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many more hours on stuff (we’d never get it all done, and we certainly wouldn’t get it done with the fun, energy, flair, and freshness that you all get it done with).

To everyone who is part of us at CrossFit LA – thank you. For being who you are, playing all out, participating in life, and showing up for each other the way you do, day in and day out, year after year after year. You’re all part of a very special and unique community in which we share in the responsibility to cherish, protect and support. Thank you for doing your part and thank you all for allowing me to serve you as your leader.

Every year at this time we take about 10 days off… to give ourselves time to recharge our batteries and come back fresh, ready for action in the New Year. We encourage each of you to do the same. Ask yourself the question, “If you’re not taking time off, then what’s the point of all the work?” Remember that you’ll have the best and most creative ideas for your life when you’re not wrapped up in the daily grind. So do yourself a favor and take a break. Go out and be with your friends and families, enjoy your time off, forget about work, email, returning calls and all the things you have to do. Spend some time “being” vs “doing”. Enjoy your holiday… we certainly will! See you all in 2010!

Don’t forget, we will have DAILY workouts posted on our site with workouts you can do at home with nothing more than a pair of running shoes, a stopwatch, and a jumprope for EVERY day of the the holiday.
