Obstacle Course!What’s useful about an overhead squat? It’s kind of a strange looking movement and it feels really awkward, so what’s the point? Well, the overhead squat is actually a great way to learn balance, core stabilization, and good posture, while building strength and flexibility. We start the kids with PVC pipe to learn the basic motion — although it may not seem like it, PVC can be a lot of work! We don’t find a need to add weight until the students can do perfect squats. There is plenty to learn before then!
