Lifting weight – why bother?

Lifting weights is definitely not glamorous. It doesn’t give you the burn, or the sweat, or the feeling of that you have been demolished by your workout. It doesn’t burn all your excess calories away, and it definitely won’t make you skinny. So then why, you ask, do we bother lifting heavy weights? For general physical preparedness and all around athleticism, nothing else stimulates your nervous system and musculoskeletal system like weightlifting. It isn’t possible to truly consider yourself strong if you are not picking up heavy things off the ground, squatting heavy weight on your back, or pressing heavy bars over your head. It is as critical to your development as an athlete as everything else we do! So enjoy it, have fun with it – and see how much weight you can lift!

Today’s Workout
Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:
10 dumbbell burpee deadlifts
100m farmer’s walk
