Today’s Workout

– Class starts with the random draw of a card from the CFLA SmackDown deck.
– The chosen card corresponds to a workout – that is the class’ WOD.
– BEWARE of the dreaded “Double Downs!” Sometimes it takes a traumatic event in life to wake us up… to force us to make a change that we knew needed to be made, yet were reluctant to take the time to make it. 2 years ago, Mtano did more than just “tweak” his back… he put himself out of commission for months (read his story here. Funny, from the first day he walked into the gym, six months prior to that, I had been on his case about form… but his natural physical ability, spirit and ego always got in the way of him slowing down enough during a workout to maintain his form… until, that is, the day that his body forced it on him.

How about you… do you know there are some things going on in your body that you’re simply not willing to take the time to look at because you think it will take too long out of your training, or progress? Or are you not willing to slow down to maintain perfect form during a WOD because you’re too desperate to “win”, get a good time, or beat the clock? In spite of what you may be telling yourself, that isn’t CrossFit, it’s just dumb. Learn from Mtano’s story…
