10 Dead Hang Pull UpsWhen looking for reasons not to come to class, one that frequently comes up for people is the lack of time. Not enough time for kids, work, loved ones, friends, and all the other demands in life, much less the gym. Never mind that without our health and fitness, we are limited in how much we can enjoy all those aspects of life, but also consider, how much effort are you putting into streamlining your life to MAKE time for the important things? I recently came across a great article, entitled 80 Ways to Steal Valuable Minutes for Your Work Day. It’s about becoming more productive in the same amount of time and creating good efficient habits.
One section that stuck out was this tip from Jonathan Fields:
“Exercise – It sounds counter-intuitive. You have to spend time exercising. But, research has shown that exercise boosts cognitive function, creativity, problem solving and productivity. In fact a NASA study showed employees who exercised daily worked at 100% efficiency after 7 hours, while those who didn’t saw a 50% drop, meaning it took them twice as long to accomplish the same thing. So, exercise, in effect, creates time.”
So, sneak out on your lunch hour for a workout — and if you are late getting back to work, tell your boss it makes you smarter and will help your productivity!
