(compare result to 6/18/13)About 8 years ago, someone walked into my first gym, Petranek Fitness, who, unbeknownst to me, would change the course of my life, along with thousands of others.
Michael Stanwyck has been part of the fabric of CFLA ever since… becoming the student that I literally couldn’t shake, transitioning from student to coach, becoming the coach that led both on and off the floor by example, then, 2 1/2 years ago, becoming responsible for the production of our entire program as CFLA’s General Manager.
Michaels skills as a coach and communicator have continued to grow exponentially since then, as has his desire and ability to serve others. He’s demonstrated this regularly in how he show up as coach and mentor, his attention to detail in the running of the CFLA program, as well as his skillful and heartfelt leadership within the staff. He’s shown time and again that you can count on him to pour his heart and soul into everything that he does, especially when it means supporting others.
Why am I telling you all of this about Michael? Well, we’ve made a transition over the past 5 months at CFLA, that today we’re making official. You see, Michael has been holding down two full time jobs over the past 3 years since the very first Whole Life Challenge – one as CFLA’s GM and the other in running the WLC.
Until recently, these jobs have been both manageable and mutually supportive. However, with the exponential growth of the WLC (much thanks to the members of the CFLA community), running it has become a job that requires full-time attention.
We decided mid-way through 2013 that it would for the highest good if Michael were officially the full-time CEO of the Whole Life Challenge. So we started putting a plan together for a new GM at CLFA and Danette, with her skill set from a full life of professional and personal experience, and her genuine love for and commitment to the CFLA community, was a natural choice. Michael worked with her for a few months and made the transition in November.
Many of you already know, but it’s about time that we made it official. Michael is now serving the world as the full time CEO of the Whole Life Challenge. Let me reassure you, he’s not going anywhere, and is still a coach at CFLA, but he’s no longer our General Manager.
Michael – I’m so grateful to you, for the commitment, dedication, and heart that you’ve brought to our community. You’ve helped create the model for how to go from just a guy who wants to get in a good workout, who’s in it mostly for himself – to someone actively engaged in supporting others and in changing the world.
Thank you for serving us in the way that you have over these years. I think I speak for everyone in saying that our world is a better place for having had you in it!
Stanwyck – doing one of his most favorite things!
