Back Squat 5-5-5-5-5
Complete as many rounds as possible in 12 minutes of:
15 Box Jumps (24/20)
10 AbMat Sit-ups
5 Handstand Push-upsI woke up yesterday morning to the rain… and my thoughts turned turned to the thousands of people running the LA Marathon… yuck… cold, wet… how miserable! Imagine having to get up at 3am in the pouring down, wet weather, get on a bus to the starting line, trying to keep warm. I thought… why would anyone show up?!

It’s strange and funny that I, of all people, had those thoughts… how quickly my mind chose to recall the misery of the rain instead of all the fantastic experiences I’ve had competing, running, working out, racing, riding, kayaking, and adventuring in the rain… including the LA Marathon about 10 years ago. Not only is the rain NOT miserable, it has lead to some of the most epic and fun adventures and runs I’ve had ever in my life! There is something really awesome about battling the elements… still showing up, not changing plans, being unstoppable… that makes crossing the finish line(whatever that means) that much more satisfying.

Careful – your mind plays tricks on you… gets you to quit before starting… convinces you that it’s going to be too hard, miserable, not fun, not worth it… and if you let it stop you, in all honesty, you really don’t know what you’re missing!
