How much rest do you give yourself? How much is enough? How much is too much? When you train 3 days on and 1 day off, should you take additional time off? How much? Does it improve your performance? Here’s what I do. I train 3 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, 1 day off every week. Then, about once every 12 weeks, I take a whole week off. If I don’t, it usually means some sort of injury, getting sick, or decreased performance. I don’t know if this is the right formula, but it works for me. If you find yourself suffering with minor (or major) injuries, getting sick, are overly tired, or see a decrease in your performance, you might try taking some time off – and maybe even putting it in your regular training schedule. Thoughts?
