Running AND Walking?

 In Uncategorized

I’ve known for years about marathon training programs that utilize the run/walk method for training novice marathoners. If you haven’t heard of this, basically, you choose the appropriate ratio of running to walking that’s appropriate for your level – 1 min run / 1 min walk, 2:1, 3:1, etc. This training can get even the most novice beginner through the 26.2 miles (with enough training volume). I haven’t heard about using it for more experienced runners until I read Better Running Through Walking in the New York Times. Any of you have experience with this method, or interested in trying this method?
