The Science of Happiness – A Speedy Lesson

The Science of Happiness – A Speedy Lesson

Shawn Achor, a Harvard educator on the subject of positive psychology, knows we have the formula for happiness all wrong. In his fast-paced yet very entertaining TEDx talk he explains:

“It’s not necessarily reality that shapes us, it’s that the lens which your brain views the world shapes your reality. And if we can change the lens, we can change our happiness. Much of the problem lies in that we keep pushing out the goal line. We get a good job — yea that’s great, but now we want a better job, etc. We have pushed happiness over the cognitive horizon making happiness impossible.”

It much more funny when he says it, somehow. Anyway, check it out. Definitely worth a view — or six. Seriously, I  had to rewind some parts a ton of times just to absorb all the goodness.
