12 Ab Rollouts (5 sec hold)Sport. It’s the pinnacle of the Theoretical Hierarchy of Development pyramid, first proposed by Greg Glassman in the “What is Fitness?” article in the CrossFit Journal. The pyramid’s foundation is nutrition, followed by metabolic conditioning, gymnastics, weightlifting, and finally, sport. Playing and learning new sports is one of the key pieces to fitness as performance… and so I ask you, 31 days into the start of 2011, what new sports have you already, or are you going to, put on your todo list?

Personally, I love board sports… my new sport for 2011 is longboard skateboarding. I’ve made it simple to integrate into my life… I park 3-5 blocks from CFLA every day, and ride my longboard from and to my car at least 3 days each week. What’s it going to be for you… and what is the next step you need to take to make it happen?

Sometimes sharing CrossFit with a friend doesn’t go quite as planned!
