Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:
10 Push ups
15 SquatsIn October, 2010, CFLA took it’s first steps toward assessing who, in our robust community of ‘normal people’ and athletes, would be best suited to compete for us in the 2012 CrossFit Games competition. We really had no idea what we were doing, or creating back then, since nothing prior to that had really ever existed, nor had the format for the Games been determined. And since CFLA is really a community program (rather than hard-core athletic/competitive), the idea of a competitive team was something really different.
That started something that has taken shape into something really special… a crew of 8 of our top athletes headed to the CrossFit Games SoCal Regionals THIS FRIDAY to represent CFLA! This team of 8 (Logan, Zach, Sam, Andy, Shirley, Annita, Cathy & Lauren) was built on the shoulders of many of our other community members. We wouldn’t have been able to produce such a strong team had it not been for ALL the others who showed up time and again for workouts and practices… people like Don, Danny, Lacie, Omid, Kevin B., Danette, Carlos, Ricky, Jonesy, Tanya, Michael, Jennifer, Becca, John, Randal, Frankie, Amy, Chris, Emily, Alex, Nina, and, well, you get the picture. This really was a team effort!
And last but definitely not least, there’s Kenny Kane. We brought Kenny on in December to coach the team… he has done so much to glue the whole thing together… from expertise in coaching, to passion for competition, zest for life, and something else… a level of fun, camaraderie and spirit that is incredibly infectious!
Anyway… I hope you will all join me in cheering our team on… up close and in person if you can make it to Regionals (Schedule & Directions) or from afar via our website, our Twitter or Facebook. GO TEAM!
