Deadlift 1-1-1-1-1
Strict Press 1-1-1-1-1Last year, CFLA hosted the Southern California Sectionals, the initial qualifying event for the CrossFit Games. This year, CrossFit is up to something much much bigger. CrossFit is using the power of the worldwide network of affiliates, in addition to the internet, to unearth the fittest people on earth. Here’s how it’s going to work:

For 6 straight weeks starting the week of March 15th, HQ will announce the WOD for the week. Any athlete that “opts in” has until Sunday each week to complete that WOD, either at a local affiliate OR on video. Any person may opt in (or not) each week, however, the only athletes that will be considered for Regionals are the ones that complete ALL 6 WODs.

The AFFILIATE TEAM competition takes place simultaneously… individuals who are on our team will complete the WODs every week, as individuals. The CF online scoring system will take the top 3 men’s and top 3 women’s scores from the people that identify themselves as members of CFLA – and these scores will be used to determine CFLA’s rank among all affiliate teams in our Region. Many of the details of the Team Competition can be found here.

I hope you’re as excited about this whole thing as I am! Would love to hear how you feel about it in comments. We’ll be announcing next week in our newsletter, the exact details of how we’re going to run this at CFLA… look for it!
