The Supreme Accomplishment

The Supreme Accomplishment

I remember a time when going to the gym was something that I “had to do.” A chore, something to check off the to do list, whether I liked it or not. I literally cannot recall the last time I felt that way. Sure there are days when I’m freaked out about the workout and there are days when I don’t feel up to working out, but it’s never a matter of loathing the activity.

The magic of our workouts is that they always contain in them an element of challenge, accomplishment, camaraderie, surprise, even daring – something that leaves you with more than you came in with. A man named Arnold Toynbee once said that “the supreme accomplishment is to blur the line between work and play.” Did anyone ever think that working out could be so much fun?
