Did you ever think that you were the only one who really hated the workout? Have you beaten yourself up at all because you’ve wondered how everyone else can love it so much while you hate the feeling? I have done this for almost 8 years now and I have often wondered why everyone else can manage to like to feel this way.

Then in sane moments I realize that very few people like to feel this way. They do it because there’s something so much bigger. Bigger than biceps, bigger than abs, bigger even than health. There’s a triumph in knowing that you can conquer something. Knowing that no matter how much you hate it, it will not take you down.

I’ve realized that I’m exactly like everyone else here. It’s a test of our humanity and our awesomeness. There’s way too much “I didn’t feel like it” out there in the world. Right here is where we train to do it anyway. And that’s why it has to suck.

You can’t triumph over easy.
