What’s the Deal with Saturday?

This Saturday, January 17, we’ll embark again on the game known as the Whole Life Challenge where we have an opportunity to better any and all health habits for the next eight weeks. I know some of you choose a level of the Whole Life Challenge that will feel sustainable after. Some of you take the strictest route with the Performance Level and then after the challenge, adhere to one new habit. Whatever you use the challenge for, use it as a positive tool that was created to serve your needs and examine each area — or maybe just one if you choose — of your overall health, well being and fitness.

Register for team CrossFit Los Angeles, and let’s take advantage of our supportive community and this great opportunity!

So, what’s happening on Saturday??

We are holding the WLC Baseline workout here at the gym. Yay! All friends and family are absolutely welcome. There will be no regular classes, but non WLC members are welcome to take part in the baseline workout.

Heats: We are holding three heats at 8am, 9am, and 10am. You are not required to be here the entire time, but come a bit early before one of those heat times. You do not have to sign up ahead of time. During your heat hour, you will get body comp measurements*, warm up, do your workout, and count for someone else. Then you’re done to enjoy your first day of the challenge! You will record your first score online on Sunday.

*Body Comp Measurements: Part of the WLC game is to measure your body comp progress, before and after. You can choose however you’d like to do this, but on Saturday you can either get basic measurements — around waist and hips — or we are making the Body Fat Truck available to you from 7am-1pm, with appointments every 10min. We are offering the body fat test to all challengers registered on the team CrossFit Los Angeles at cost, and you can pay Linda in the truck directly. She takes cash, checks, and credit cards.

The Workout: Here’s the WLC2015 Baseline Workout!

2 rounds for Total Reps:
1 minute at each station
Push Ups
Sit Ups
Burpees
Squats
1 minute rest

We’re excited to see you all there on Saturday! If you have any WLC questions, feel free to ask in the comments or ask any CFLA coach.
